Piano Recital

We had a little piano recital in my home for my 2 kids and the other 2 kids I am teaching piano.  It was fun to get the house looking beautiful and to pull out my fancy dishes.

We did video tape the performances, but I only got a couple pictures of the kiddos involved:

Charlotte and her best friend Suzy:

And some more of my decorations, because I find them quaint:

Snow Day

The kids got to miss one day of school for snow.  I forced them to gear up and go out and play, and of course they enjoyed themselves.  It was nice fluffy snow, and so I was able to try a recipe I have been wanting to try for "snow ice cream".  You just mix a little heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla in with the snow.  A little cocoa powder makes a chocolate variety.

After playing for a while you can see Jeffrey's nose is running from the cold and there are actually snow flakes stuck to his eyelashes!

This was after I attempted to take the girls to dance class, and of course it was cancelled.

What Christmas Looks Like

Dry Erase Marker Art
Arabelle likes teaching Charlotte "school" at their little table

Trimming the Tree.

Babies always love the tub of ornaments.

Rowan got a ton of mileage out of this elf costume this Christmas.  He has worn it everywhere and made a lot of people happy!

It was Arabelle's idea for them to hold these Christmas-y props.

Jeffrey's Minecraft Creeper cards he made for his teachers.

Charlotte has discovered how much fun Arabelle's vanity is.

And the art table getting used for hours a day, as always...

Charlotte has stopped making her "guys" in favor of colorful abstract shapes and designs.

A friend invited us over to decorate sugar cookies.

We have been reading lots and lots of Christmas books this year:

And this creepy volume mysteriously arrived in the mail...
